Marc Lamerton

Marc Lamerton, Architect
B.A., M.Arch., MAIBC, LEED™ AP

Marc is a registered architect and LEED™ Accredited Professional. He graduated from the University of British Columbia's Masters of Architecture program in 2002. During the next 6 years he worked at Kasian-Kennedy Architecture, Ekistics Design, and Bunting Coady Architects. During this time he was exposed to a wide range of building types, both in BC and abroad. While at Bunting Coady, Marc was involved in a number of projects that focused on high quality, sustainable commercial and institutional design. While working as a key team member on the Discovery Green building in Burnaby (the first LEED™ Platinum certified commercial building in BC), Marc completed his architectural internship. This experience allowed him to bring forward a very thorough understanding of how to deliver a high quality, high performance sustainable building. Within the context of the Shuswap and BC's interior, he hopes to find ways to incorporate this knowledge and raise the standards of how we can expect our buildings to perform.

While it is still developing, Marc's personal approach to design has not only been influenced by his educational background and professional work, but by his encounters in various cities and cultures around the globe. He strives to incorporate these wide-ranging 'experiences of place' and adapt them to our own context in order to find the best possible solutions to design problems. Marc is also a keen believer in the strength of our communities and works hard to get involved as much as possible in various activities and organizations.

When not at the helm of his trusty I-Mac or on various construction sites in the area, Marc can be found spending time with his family – at Larch Hills, the soccer fields, or enjoying many of the other outdoor amenities of our beautiful region. His other interests include mountain biking, rowing, motorcycling, reading, music, and watching the Canucks.
